Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Lately I have been pretty stuck. That's why I haven't posted for you guys these past few weeks. This blog is something that I want to be meaningful and have useful content that can help that one person who reads it feel as though they are not alone. So, please forgive me & I'm hoping these posts this week will make up for it!!
This week's verse has been popping up on social media everywhere for me. It's been on the calendar for me to blog about it, but I didn't know what to say up until a recent hair salon visit last week. Yes I know, I was shook too, but our God works in the craziest ways. I walked into the hair salon not really expecting it to be busy, but boy was I wrong. There were women coming in from left and right and I started to get a little overwhelmed until one woman walked in and shared her testimony. RANDOMLY. That's when I realized why this verse had been placed in my life. I'm not going to go into what the woman's testimony was because that's her story to tell, not mine and I'm going to respect that. She said one thing that really stuck with me and connected to this week's verse. "God has a plan for all of us, but if you steer away from His plan the trials will be worse than the ones you will encounter if you stick with Him and His plans for you." She was absolutely right. I can give you numerous examples of when I strayed off the path God has put before me and things went totally wrong. It's hard not to! Especially if you're independent like me. But, once you get back on track you feel different. Now, I'm not saying that God's path is easy, because it's not. You're still going to face many trials, but he is there helping you through it all. Another woman in the salon brought up another interesting point. She said that God's plan for us is like child birth. Everyone in the salon looked at each other with confused looks, but once she explained it her statement made sense to everybody. Child birth is a very painful process, but the outcome is worth it. A beautiful little life has been brought into the world by going through a painful experience. Almost like God's plan for us. Obviously some of the trials we endure aren't as painful as child birth, but going through them is worth it once we see the outcome. The verse says he has plans to prosper us and NOT to harm us. To give us HOPE and a FUTURE. Stick to His plan and you will have a beautiful outcome. He will get you through all of it!!! I hope this entry makes sense and will help you see that God has a special plan that fits you and only you. Much love, Erynn la

Song of Solomon 8:7
Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man offered for love all the wealth of his house, he would be utterly despised. This week's verse is actually pretty deep and came into my life at the right time. A time when I thought no one was listening and that I was unlovable. And with it coming from my absolute FAVORITE book of the Bible(seriously, I could talk for hours about Song of Solomon it's so beautiful), I knew the Lord just placed it in my life to use and to share. It's difficult to think that the Lord is always there or is always listening. I know that with my stubborn personality it's hard to really listen to Him or take in His love. This verse proves that no matter how far away we may feel from Him, His love cannot be quenched & floods cannot drown it. We are too precious and beautiful for Him to not love us and I think that's pretty comforting. With that being said, you are NOT unlovable, you are BEING loved! The Lord's love is abundant, pure, and the best love you will ever receive. Much love, Erynn P.S~ I did Bible journal this verse and posted my process and the materials I used! Click here! “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”
James 1:5 NIV This week’s verse is special and relatable. It came at the right time in my life when I did not know what to do or who to go to in times of confusion and worry. Look to him during those tough times. Since this is one of my first blog posts I’m not really ready to go deep into my testimony, but I can guarantee you that from what I’ve been through that this verse is 100% truth. Feeling lost and unworthy is not enjoyable, especially when you do not know how to fix it. The Lord has the answers to EVERYTHING. I’m not over exaggerating!!! I find his wisdom in my friends, family, and in the Bible mostly, but he’s everywhere! Giving you wisdom and speaking to you in the ways He knows you communicate with him best. So, next time you are feeling down or discouraged and do not know how to fix it, look to the Lord and ask him to help because I just know that he already has that answer and those specific words of wisdom ready for you. Much love, Erynn |
